Twitter Reacts As Liverpool Come From Behind To Rout Stoke

With Manchester United, City, Arsenal and Chelsea all collecting three points yesterday, it was imperative Liverpool overcame Mark Hughes’ Stoke.

And, with a minor stumble along the way, they did just that, running out 4-1 winners.

Jonathan Walters’ early header could not be kept out by Simon Mignolet and social media, unsurprisingly, had plenty to say about it.

Adam Lallana levelled it up with a tidy finish.

Roberto Firmino’s well-taken goal before half time sent the Reds in on top.

Stoke were the masters of their own downfall in the second period as two defensive disasters cost them dear.

Daniel Sturridge capitalised on Ryan Shawcross soft backpass to get his first league goal of the season, sending Klopp’s charges further ahead.

The Reds pushed for a fifth but couldn’t find it with Alberto Moreno of all people going closest.

Liverpool host Manchester City on Saturday as they look to exert further pressure on Chelsea but with Manchester United picking up steam below them, anything other than a win and Mourino’s men will be right on their tails.

City’s form, meanwhile, has improved after a shaky run of games. Whoever wins at the weekend will likely emerge as the leading candidates to push Antonio Conte’s side in the title race.
