We’ve seen most clubs come out with a few beauties on their official Twitter accounts since the social media network became one of the go-to places for up-to-date club news, but someone at Newcastle has outdone themselves.
A birthday-related post on Wednesday morning alluded to the fact that Mitrović has had a less than well behaved start to his tenure on Tyneside.
In just four games so far, the Serbia international has already picked up two yellow cards, one in his opening appearance against Southampton and another a week later against Swansea.
A brief reprieve from some bad decision making followed against Manchester United but in his last outing two weeks ago, Mitrović went and got himself sent off against Arsenal in the Magpies’ second defeat of the season, meaning he missed last weekend’s clash with West Ham in the Boleyn Ground through suspension.
This kind of reputation subsequently led to Newcastle tweeting, on Mitrović’s birthday, that the 21-year-old had had “lots of cards.”

With Newcastle having scored just two Premier League goals so far this season, however, this joke may wear thin should the north-east outfit fail to pick up something from their next couple of games against Watford and Chelsea.
The fact that Newcastle are propping up the Premier League table will also be of huge concern, even if we are only five games in.
The aforementioned fixtures are followed by a trip to Manchester City, a home game against Norwich and the Wear-Tyne derby in the Stadium of Light before October’s out, so Newcastle don’t have any easy way out of the predicament they currently find themselves in.
