Transfer Blow For Manchester United As Real Madrid Star Reportedly Snubs Mourinho

Raphael Varane

It never felt like the most plausible transfer of the summer but still it’s still a blow.

According to Le10Sport, via talkSPORT, Raphael Varane is going to snub Manchester United in favour of staying in Madrid with the hopes of breaking into the starting team next season.

TalkSPORT report:

“The French defender was considering his future at the Bernabeu amid worries he may spend another season deputising for first-choice central defensive pairing Sergio Ramos and Pepe.

“However, according to Le 10 Sport, Real manager Zinedine Zidane has reassured the 23-year-old he is a significant part of his plans for the upcoming season.”

United have already signed Eric Bailly this summer but Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on bringing another centre-back to Old Trafford this window.

The Portuguese is clearly a fan of Varane, he brought him to Spain’s capital during his time in the Bernabeu hotseat.

The arrival of another centre back would surely signal the overdue departure of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
