AZ Alkamaar forward Vincent Janssen has rejected the advances of Paris Saint-Germain in favour of a move to Tottenham, according to L’Equipe.
Janssen had already spoken earlier last week about his disappointment with regards to Alkamaar’s negotiations.
Janssen told Telegraaf: “I trust AZ will talk to Spurs. If AZ do not, despite the offered amount and Spurs drop out, then that is a blow to me.”
The Holland striker adds: “I’m not one to make quick war, but how I react, I do not know. I assume that AZ realizes that a transfer for everyone is the best. AZ are blocking my dream transfer and that makes me incredibly disappointed.”
L’Equipe’s report states that the French champions’ offer for Janssen was accepted by AZ but rejected by the player, who refuses to yield in his desire to become a Tottenham player.
Mauricio Pochettino has also shown his willingness to push the boat out in an attempt to sign the Dutch striker, by reportedly making another bid.
Janssen is contracted with AZ until 2019, having only signed from Almere City last summer for a mere €500,000.
It is rumoured that Alkamaar are demanding €20m for their star, who scored 28 goals in 38 games last season.
