Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with two possible forward signings as well as a winger and central midfielder, Raul Meireles.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio (via the Daily Express), Meireles could be on his way back to the Premier League after it was reported that Spurs have ‘held talks’ with the ex-Liverpool and Chelsea player’s agent. The paper also claim that Meireles has ‘no future’ at his current club Fenerbahce.
Sticking with midfield, and Spurs are also said to be in line in to sign Colombian winger Jeison Lucumi ahead of European counterparts PSV and Atletico Madrid.
The Daily Mail claim that, according to the player’s representative, Tottenham are ‘first in line’ to sign the 20-year-old, who is currently plying his trade in the Colombian second division. This could be an ideal signing to bolster Mauricio Pochettino’s squad out wide, with Spurs said to be on the look out for widemen all summer, including rumours of interest in Manchester United’s Ashley Young.
Tottenham have also been linked with forward talent amid speculation that Manchester United have ‘made a huge bid’ for talisman Harry Kane.
Charlie Austin has now been put in the Spurs spotlight, as widespread reports claim that a deal could be on the cards.
The Mirror report that Tottenham have ‘already contacted relegated Rangers’ concerning the 26-year-old frontman. QPR will want £15 million for his services and Spurs may be willing to add a player of their own to the deal, on loan, to push the transfer through.
Austin had an exceptional season last term when one considers he scored 18 goals for a relegated club and he could be an ideal addition to a club with significantly improved midfield talent behind him.
Along with Austin, Spurs have also been linked with Clinton NJie of Lyon with £10.5 million said to be on the table for the coveted forward.
Matt Spiro, a France-based football writer, has tweeted that while Alexandre Lacazette is set to stay at the Ligue 1 club, Njie is ‘very close’ to a move to White Hart Lane, using L’Équipe as his source.

While Spurs have been quiet in this summer’s window so far, the north London club are certainly starting to make some noise as we head nearer to the deadline at the end of the month.
The potential signing of two strikers could also mean bad news regarding Kane, who, if reports are to be believed, could have his head turned by United.
