Tottenham put their recent woes behind them by annihilating Swansea City 5-0 at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

With just one win in ten in all competitions for Maurcio Pochettino’s side, Tottenham’s season was starting to look in danger of not living up to its promise – especially with their early Champions League exit recently.

However, they put relegation-threatened Swansea to the sword this afternoon. A Harry Kane penalty five minutes before half time opened the scoring, before Son Heung-Min doubled the lead on the stroke of the break. Kane scored a second less than five minutes into the restart, before a Christian Eriksen double made Bob Bradley’s afternoon as miserable as it possibly could have been.

Tottenham fans took to social media with a mixture of happiness and relief, as a potential banana skin was swatted away and their side can now head to Old Trafford next Sunday (after their final Champions League game of the season in midweek) with confidence.

Spare a thought, however, for Swansea, who managed to follow up last weekend’s manic 5-4 win against Crystal Palce with one of the worst performances of any side this season.
