Despite being linked with a move to Arsenal during every transfer window for the past number of seasons, the Gunners could be about to lose out on the Julian Draxler after Liverpool declared an interest in the German World Cup winner.
Draxler has become unhappy at Wolfsburg after falling out with the club’s Sporting Director Klaus Allofs, and has reportedly been told that he will never play for the club again. Furthermore, as Die Wölfe find themselves languishing in 13th place on the Bundesliga table, the 23 year-old maybe tempted to assess his options.
Indeed, with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus also reported to be interested in signing Draxler, he is not short of potential suitors.
Nevertheless, Liverpool’s reported interest does come as a bit of a shock, particularly as Jurgen Klopp also has players such as Daniel Sturridge, Sadio Mané, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino at his disposal, not to mention the likes of Divock Origi and Danny Ings who continue to form part of his squad.
However, The Times believe Liverpool are likely to test the water in their pursuit of Draxler, but that PSG remain in pole position to land the German International.
