The Times have today reported that Arsenal are set to make a move for a Polish international to boost their options in midfield.
It is well known that Arsenal are considering their options in defensive midfield and with the release of Abou Diaby this week, the need for a specialist in this position who can support the surprise emergence of Francis Coquelin is even more desperate.
Since the transfer window opened, consistent rumours have linked The Gunners with a move for Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin. However, it seems that the Saints are standing firm and demanding a transfer fee far above Arsene Wenger’s valuation of the French midfielder.
With negotiations having stalled, The Times have reported that Arsenal scouts are also quite keen on Sevilla star, Grzegorz Krychowiak as an alternative. Krychowiak is a Polish international who has only just completed his first season in La Liga but with a Europa League medal already to his name, the Sevilla man is turning heads.
At 25 years of age, Krychowiak has a £21m buyout clause in his contract.
