Of all the silly, silly transfer rumours we hear, this has to be up there.
There were a few reports breaking last night that Fabian Delph could very well be on his way to Manchester City for £8 million with wages of up to £100,000-a-week.
But despite the high wages, reports also suggested Delph wouldn’t even be guaranteed a starting spot with Manchester City.
Not sure about you guys, but this has to be crazy. Delph is a great player, but would he really give up his cult status as a club legend at Villa for a place on the bench with City? The midfielder has only just made a case for himself in the national team and to risk a potential trip to Euro 2016 due to spending a season on the bench at City is ludicrous.
Surely examples like Scott Sinclair should serve as an effective warning. And of course, why let James Milner leave for free if you planned to replace him with such a similar player for similar wages.
That being said, stranger things have happened but our advice, which sounds weird saying, is to stay with Tim Sherwood.
