Ah this has brightened up our Thursday afternoon. Raheem Sterling’s agent has seemingly lost his marbles and decided to call Sky pundit Jamie Carragher a…(cough) “knob”.
As Sterling’s contract dispute rumbled on, Jamie Carragher spoke out on Monday Night Football stating that the young Liverpool attacker should seek alternative representation.
Agents are very rarely celebrated in the public domain but it seems in this case, Raheem Sterling’s agent Aidy Ward has taken Carragher’s comments to heart and decided a mature and measured retort was appropriate…by calling the Liverpool legend a knob.
Check out Mr. Ward’s quotes in full below:
“I don’t care about the PR of the club and the club situation,” said Ward. “I don’t care.”
“He is definitely not signing. He’s not signing for £700, £800, £900 thousand a week. He is not signing.”
“My job is to make sure I do the best with them (my clients). If people say I am bad at my job, or they are badly advised it does not matter.”
“Carragher is a knob. Everybody knows it. Any of the criticism from current pundits or ex-Liverpool players – none of them things matter to me. It is not relevant.”
Safe to say Liverpool football club won’t be doing business with Sterling’s agent any time soon then.
