Paul Pogba has finally completed his incredible return to Manchester United, but some fans remain unconvinced of the Frenchman’s prodigious talents.
His somewhat unconvincing performances for his national team did little to ease fan’s concerns about his reported £89 million fee.
These stats, courtesy of Squawka, show that not only that he is now United’s best midfielder but that he is worth every penny.
This one, in particular, would convince even the most skeptical of fans.
Squawka’s “Scores” are calculated from numerous statistics and is intended to be a representation of overall ability. By the stats, Pogba is a staggering three and a half times more effective than United’s next best midfielder.
His defensive score makes for very interesting reading, indeed.
The Juve man came in for severe criticism following his underwhelming showings for France, particularly in the final. These numbers clearly show that he was criminally misused by Didier Deschamps. His defensive ability obviously leaves much to be desired and yet he was employed in a very strict role in front of the France backline. His attacking flair was mitigated by his own coach but should he join United, he’ll surely be used in a more advanced position.
He is also the most effective of the group in an overall sense, by a distance.
United confirmed the deal late last night.
