Stats Prove How Ineffectual Paul Pogba Was Against Watford

Manchester United fell to a third consecutive defeat against Watford, with Troy Deeney’s 94th-minute penalty putting the seal on what was a dismal display for the Red Devils.

One man that was criticised to a large extent was the captain Wayne Rooney, who received a horrific Twitter reaction from United fans, but world record signing Paul Pogba was received a similar backlash, and his statisitics from today do not aid the Frenchman’s cause.

Since making a steady debut against Southampton, Pogba has failed to impress numerous critics after shambolic displays against Hull, Manchester City and today’s game at Vicarage Road.

The 23-year-old’s first-half numbers set the tone for a shocking performance.

The inevitable comparisons were drawn when Etienne Capoue opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the season..

The highlight of the former Juventus midfielder’s game was firing an effort off the bar in the first half, but ina team looking devoid of any real ideas, he failed to flourish against admittedly average opposition.

United play Northampton away in the League Cup, can Pogba avoid embarrassment at Sixfields?

On this display, we wouldn’t put it past him to gift the League One side a goal or two..
