Stat Proves Wayne Rooney Has A Lethal Partnership With Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was at the double with a goal at either side of half-time at the Hawthorns on Saturday evening, as Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United continued their recent revival with a 2-0 win at West Brom.

The Swede, who enjoyed a phenomenal start to life in the Premier League, was the subject of some criticism after a dip in form, but scored the winner at Crystal Palace on Wednesday and spearheaded the Red Devils’ assault on Tony Pulis’s men yesterday to add another three points to United’s somewhat underwhelming tally at this stage of the season.

Another figure at United who has not been the most popular has been club captain Wayne Rooney. Under increased spotlight ever since he signed a contract worth up to £300,000 in early 2014, the England international has not enjoyed support from the vast majority of the club’s fans, but he has surely proven he is the man who should be partnered with Ibrahimovic.

Believe it or not, the pair are among the most deadly striking duo in the Premier League.

Does Rooney deserve a place in the starting eleven, or is he better suited as the most expensive super-sub of all time?
