Arsenal anxiously await the results of medical scans.
Arsene Wenger will this morning be anxiously be waiting to hear news from Spain after Hector Bellerin suffered an ankle injury while on under 21 duty.
According to Marca, the right back suffered a nasty tackle during the Spanish under 21’s 3-0 victory over San Marino on Wednesday night. Belerin was withdrawn as a result of a heavy challenge in the 88th minute.
Consequently the 21 year-old didn’t train yesterday and is awaiting the results of scans to reveal the extent of the injury.
Although it doesn’t sound too serious at present, Arsenal face a compact schedule once the international window concludes. Between the 15 October and 1 November, the Gunners will play six fixtures.
Despite being expected to beat each of Swansea City, Middlesbrough, Reading, Sunderland and Ludogorets twice, the sheer volume of games will force Arsene Wenger to rotate his squad during that period.
Indeed, Arsenal will need to keep their star players ahead of November, as the Gunners face consecutive fixtures against Tottenham, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in the middle of the month.
