Squawka Drop An Absolutely Mental Petr Cech vs Cristiano Ronaldo Stat

Without any over exaggeration, it’s fair to say that this season, Cristiano Ronaldo looks as if he is finally past his best.

After a thumping 5-1 win over Legia Warsaw last night, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane admitted that they expected more from Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite providing an assist on the night, the former Manchester United winger did not manage to get on the score card.

“We all expect more from Cristiano and he knows that.” – Zinedine Zidane

Despite the fact that we are now two months into the current season, Ronaldo has scored just four goals in all competitions. Of course, for most this would be a very respectable figure, but in the context of one the greatest of all time, this number seems remarkably low. Lionel Messi, for example, has already netted on 9 occasions this campaign.

Analysing Ronaldo’s fall from grace, Squawka’s social media manager, Kevin Blundell, has produced a baffling stat, somehow managing to compare Cristiano with Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Petr Cech has completed more take-ons (2) in the league this season than Cristiano Ronaldo (1).

A ‘take on’ is defined by Squawka as an ‘attempt to dribble past an opponent’. What this means is, rather insanely, Petr Cech has successfully dribbled past more opponents than Cristiano Ronaldo this season.

Ya, stick that one in your pipe and smoke it.
