Southampton Manager Ronald Koeman Speaks Out On Schneiderlin To Manchester United

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has had his say on the proposed Schneiderlin to Manchester United move

News broke yesterday that Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos had told his club that he wished to move to Manchester United.

For United fans, it was a case of continuous elation after many reports suggested the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin was already a done deal. Sky had suspended betting and at £24 million, it seemed everyone was in agreement with regard to a proposed fee.

However, before proceeding with their Ramos business it seems the negotiators at Old Trafford may first need to focus on finishing off a deal with Southampton as based on these quotes, a deal is far from done.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman sat down for a lengthy interview with Southampton TV and it seems he has completely dismissed all previous suggestions that United were on the verge of signing the French midfielder.

“We have the situation with Morgan Schneiderlin, we will have to wait what will happen. Until now, we have not a serious bid for him from Man United. We will wait, but okay that’s business that normally starts from now. And it’s no problem, it’s the first day.”

If you’re a Southampton fan, the full video is worth a watch but if you want to hear the direct quotes regarding Manchester United and Schneiderlin, then skip ahead to around 12:12 in the video.
