Watch: Dominic Solanke Finally Scores His First Goal For Liverpool

Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke has opened his account for Liverpool on the final day of the Premier League season.

The England international has had to wait for some time – 27 appearances, to be exact – for the moment, but it finally came against Brighton & Hove Albion.

With Liverpool needing a point to secure Champions League football for next season, Solanke was a surprise starter up front, with the prolific front three of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino operating behind him.

His moment to shine came less than ten minutes after the restart, after some fine work by Mo Salah. The Egyptian forward, who had earlier scored a record 32nd goal for the league season, beat his man before playing Solanke through into the box.

The 20-year-old composed himself before firing a well-struck shot past Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan and into the roof of the net.

At the time of writing, Liverpool look well on course to secure the remaining the last Champions League spot. Jurgen Klopp’s side lead 3-0 with 10 minutes remaining. With Newcastle also 3-0 up against Chelsea, it would take a massive turnaround in both matches for the Reds to miss out at this point.
