Sky Sports Dampen Cristiano Ronaldo Excitement With Their Latest Update

With Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly determined to leave Real Madrid following complications surrounding the tax he was paying, odds of a return to Manchester United are tumbling.

A flurry of reports in recent days have suggested the Portuguese superstar is open to a switch back to the club where he made his name. The attacker left Old Trafford in the summer of 2009 for £80 million, then a world-record fee.

However, Sky Sports are this morning claiming that United have serious reservations about re-signing the 32-year-old. According to them, the club doesn’t want to get embroiled in a saga that would overshadow their pre-season preparations.

Furthermore, the exorbitant potential cost and complicated nature of the deal is also said to have made United weary of making a move. Stories emerging from Spain this week insisted it could take in excess of £200 million to prise the game’s greatest goalscorer away from the Bernabeu.

Madrid’s President Florentino Perez told Onda Cero yesterday evening that his main man would not be leaving Los Blancos this summer.

“Not I nor anyone at Madrid is contemplating that Cristiano could leave the club.

“We are very relaxed about this.”

United take on the Spanish giants on August 8th in the UEFA Super Cup in the Phillip II Arena in Skopje.
