Arsenal Fans React With Anger As Thierry Henry Blames Arsene Wenger For Coaching Exit

When news broke that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was to be offered some form of coaching role at the club, the assumption was that he would perhaps one day succeed Arsène Wenger as manager.

Having been working with the youth set up on a part time basis last season, Henry could also be found moonlighting as a pundit for Sky Sports. Following his work for the broadcaster during the recent European Championships, the former Arsenal star has been awarded a lucrative contract to continue his media work in front of the camera.

According the Sky Sports, news of the new contract has not gone down well with the veteran manager.

The broadcaster has claimed that though the former striker offered to continue to mentor the U18’s for free while fulfilling his television commitments, Wenger has instead rejected the offer, insisting that working with the youth set up was a full time job.

It has also been reported, via, that Henry is less than impressed with his former manager, claiming that his exit from the club was ‘Arsène Wenger’s decision’.

As news of Henry departing the club broke, fans have taken to voicing their own mixed reactions online.

Now this is just scathing

Another rare voice of reason

While the majority of fans are aghast that Wenger could cast aside the legend that is Thierry Henry, some believe that Wenger was correct to insist that the U18 role requires 100% commitment from whomever coaches then, Arsenal talisman or not.

The youth team are after all be the first team of tomorrow right?
