Following the dramatic Euro 2016 final, which saw Portugal take the title over the home nation France, Arsenal fans have taken it upon themselves to urge Arsene Wenger to sign France midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
After a massive final performance for his country on Sunday, Sissoko has caught the attention of Gunners’ fans in a big way. Bossing the midfield and largely overshadowing Juventus’ star player and Manchester United target Paul Pogba, the Newcastle United midfielder certainly upped his own profile.
Recently, Wenger has voiced his admiration for the player, describing him as ‘remarkable’.
“Football is made of opinions, and it is important not to be ashamed of being wrong. The evidence is that I have been in football for 40 years and I’m still wrong.”
“It is true that Sissoko has been remarkable.”
Sissoko has previously admitted that Arsenal are the ‘club in his heart’ and now, following his performance in the Euro 2016 final, Arsenal fans are begging Wenger to sign a player they rate as better than Pogba.

I honestly would take Sissoko in the Arsenal midfield before Pogba

Following the heartache of defeat to Portugal, a team that has been largely regarded as the worst ever winning side following a tournament that saw them win only once in normal time, Sissoko might well take some comfort in the fact that the Arsenal faithful have taken a real shine to the recently relegated Frenchman.
With fans voicing their desire for Wenger to sign Sissoko and the manager himself expressing his admiration for the player, Newcastle might do well to start thinking about how much they want for their powerful midfielder.
With a growing profile following the European Championships, it will likely not be long before Arsenal are not the only side taking an interest in the highly rated Sissoko.
