Liverpool took control of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Manchester City last night, with an emphatic 3-0 victory that only the most optimistic Reds supporters could have dreamed of.
It was a tie which captured the imagination of even the most casual fan. Could the seemingly unstoppable juggernaut that is Man City be bested by Liverpool, a team which has mixed the brilliant with the bizarre this season? Add in the famous Anfield European-night atmosphere and it was quite the occasion.
Unfortunately, before kick-off there some unsavoury scenes, as the Man City team bus was vandalised as it made its way to the ground.
Pep Guardiola questioned the lack of preventative measures taken by police, while Liverpool FC issued an apology almost immediately.
After the game, many were left to ponder if the ordeal had made its mark on the City players, and their performances were impacted by the events.
City coach Manel Estiarte posted a video to social media taken from inside the bus as the events were unfolding.
It makes for remarkable viewing.
