Robin Van Persie & Former Arsenal Teammate Have Huge Falling Out During Fenerbahce Match

Robin van Persie had a very controversial game as Fenerbahce took on Besiktas in a Turkish cup match over the weekend.

Former Arsenal and Manchester United forward Robin van Persie was the central figure in a number of incidents as Fenerbahce took on Besiktas this weekend.

Van Persie scored the only goal of the game, got an opponent sent off with a blatant piece of simulation and also, rather bizarrely, celebrated his winning goal by sliding in front of a man who was once his close friend.

Oguzhan Ozyakup spent 4 years at Arsenal while Van Persie was also at the club and, having moved from Holland, the pair became very close as the Dutch forward showed him the ropes in North London.

Although Ozyakup has often spoken of his friendship with, and admiration for Van Persie, it seems that whatever relationship they had was destroyed over the weekend.

Having been seen arguing on the pitch earlier in the game, Van Persie later sought out his former teammate to provoke him by celebrating his match winner in his face.

Speaking after the match, Ozyakup confirmed that his relationship with RVP is now a thing of the past.

“I was very good friends with a certain player. That changed today. Sometimes you see the real face of a footballer on the field.”

On top of everything else, Van Persie has also been slated online for a blatant act of simulation that saw Dusko Tosic receiving a red card for what was essentially a nothing incident.

Check out his goal, his argument with Ozyakup, the red card incident and his bizarre celebration below;
