Richarlison looks set to become Everton’s first signing of the summer in the very near future.

The Watford forward has undergone a medical with the Toffees on Monday ahead of completing a deal which could reach a club-record £50m.

The deal, assuming there are no last-minute hitches, is therefore set to be completed on Tuesday morning in what will be Marco Silva’s first major signing since taking the reins at Goodison Park earlier this summer. Should all the add-ons be met, it will eventually surpass the £45m Everton paid Swansea for Gylfi Sigurdsson last summer.

Richarlison was initially brought to the Premier League by Watford (then managed by Silva) in a £13m deal from Fluminense ahead of the 2017/18 season. He started brightly at Vicarage Road with five goals in his first 12 Premier League games, his form tailed off and he failed to find the net for the remainder of the campaign.

Nonetheless, Silva will be confident of restoring the former Brazilian u20 international back to his impressive best as he looks to guide the Blues to a much better campaign than the troublesome season under Ronald Koeman David Unsworth and Sam Allardyce last year.
