David Ornstein of the BBC is arguably one of the most connected journalists to Arsenal. In his transfer gossip round up for the BBC, he spoke on what he knows about new deals.
It’s probably not the news Arsenal fans want, but it gives hope definitely. In his round-up video, available here, David Ornstein speaks on Lord Harris, Wenger and targets.
You’ve all have heard by now, Arsenal Director Lord Harris has claimed the club have the cash to sign anyone but Ronaldo and Messi and thinks the club should sign a super star forward. Wenger has come out and spoken on the issue too, trying to quell some of the excitement. However David Ornstein’s sources have said that the club have about £50m to spend. £50m to spend, Any more signings are likely to come towards end of transfer window.
That isn’t all bad news, Arsenal have been very active in August for the last few seasons, brining in Ozil and a host of lesser players over recent years. Wenger has continually hinted he’s happy with his squad and thinks they can win the league.
But another trademark of Wenger’s strategy has been too allow other clubs to move for big names and pounce on the players who then must be sold, it’s worked superbly with Ozil and Sanchez. Could that be the ploy here?
