Reports in Spain have suggested today that Karim Benzema made a big mistake in not leaving Real Madrid for Arsenal over the course of the summer.
Spanish paper El Confidencial are today reporting that French striker Karim Benzema is unhappy with his current situation at the Santiago Bernabeu and wishes he had moved on during the last transfer window.
Consistent reports over the course of the summer suggested that Arsenal were willing to pay big money for the forward, however Benzema took to social media to dismiss those reporting the potential deal as clowns.
Such is football however that the Real Madrid man now reportedly regrets his decision as he is frustrated with how he is currently being treated by new man in charge, Rafa Benitez.
Having been repeatedly substituted of late, , the French international spoke out after Real’s 1-1 draw with Atetico on Sunday night.
Substitutions are what the coach decides, I’m just there to help my teammates.
It’s true I’m fed up of being taken off. I’m calm and will continue to work so I’m not always substituted. He took me off to get a result, for defensive reasons.
It’s true that the electronic board always shows the No.9. Ask Benitez why that is.
If these quotes haven’t already rocked the boat enough, El Confidencial are now reporting that Benzema now believes the press that he had previously dismissed as ‘clowns’ were in fact correct, and that he should have headed to London in the summer.

The Frenchman now believes that these ‘clowns’ were not only right, but it would have been better for him to force a move to Arsenal
