City can’t afford to let Sergio Aguero to do all the work again next season, and, it seems, Pep has realised this.
As good as the Argentine is, he is getting older and more susceptible to injury. Without his goals, The Citizens would struggle. Celta Vigo forward Nolito is being lined up to supplement him, if reports are to be believed.
Tele5 journalist Manu Carreno reports that Pep Guardiola’s City have already reached an agreement with the Barcelona target.
Carreno also claimed Tottenham are interested in the 29-year-old. He added that Spurs have someone in Toulouse, where Spain began their defence of the European Championships on Monday, with a win over the Czech Republic.
Nolito played with Barcelona in his youth but struggled and moved frequently before revamping his career at Celta. He bagged an impressive twwelve goals and seven assists last season, making himself one of Europe’s hottest properties.
The move does seem a strange one from Pep, he would have come across the Spaniard during his time at La Blaugrana but overlooked him. It would be suprising for him to make the Celta man his second signing for City.
But, you never know.
