If there’s one thing Jose Mourinho has made clear, he has no problem selling big names to the teams around him.
The special One left Juan Mata and Romelu Lukaku go to Manchester United and Everton respectively as well as overseeing Petr Cech’s £10 million switch across London.
If reports are to be believed, Chris Smalling, the man many expected to be United’s next captain, could also be heading to the Gunners.
With reports of a rift between Smalling and the Portuguese tactician, Wenger is on high alert, according to the Mirror.
“The row has rekindled Arsenal’s long-standing interest in Smalling, who has been admired by Arsene Wenger ever since United pipped the Gunners to his £10million signing in January 2010.
“Despite signing German international defender Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia in the summer, Wenger would be a bidder for Smalling.”
It would be a dramatic turn of events if the Englishman ended up plying his trade in Arsenal’s shade of red considering how well he’s has established himself in the United side over the past two years.
If the man Louis van Gaal coined “Mike” heads south, it would be one of the most bizarre moves in Premier League history.
Luke Shaw, along with Smalling, was heavily criticised by Jose after his side cruised past Swansea last weekend following the pair’s admission to the boss that they weren’t fit to play. It has since emerged that the latter had a broken toe.
And the former Fulham man isn’t the only one on the move, the aforementioned report adds.
Shaw has supposedly become the target of Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool with the Merseyside team short of options at left-back as James Milner continues to deputise.
Again, this isn’t the most likely outcome for this saga. But with Jose Mourinho, you just never know.
Can't believe Shaw and Smalling don't want to play for jose wtf is happening to our club

Martial, Shaw and Smalling were arguably our 3 best from last season. None of them in the XI or in form atm. Worrying.

Not even 6 months and Mourinho have fallen out with Schweinsteiger, Mkhitaryan, Shaw and Smalling
