Liverpool are interested in signing Newcastle United attacker Andros Townsend, according to the Mirror and Metro.
Jurgen Klopp is clearly not getting his own way this summer though, as Premier League rivals Manchester City look set to compete for his signature.
For the life of us, we can’t imagine that Pep Guardiola goes to bed at night dreaming of utilising Andros Townsend in a trequartista role at the Etihad next season, but what do we know?!
Townsend would be a good addition to Liverpool’s squad, if not a prominent member of the starting eleven, and with his release clause at a mere £10.5m, a move to Anfield could suit all parties.
Crystal Palace, West Ham and Crystal Palace are also rumoured to be interested, and all three would probably be able to accomodate Townsend into their teams.
However, money talks..
Will Townsend join Liverpool?
