How Paul Pogba’s Transfer Will Cost Manchester United €269 Million

Manchester United

Italian newspaper La Repubblica have calculated the entire cost of Paul Pogba’s transfer from Juventus to Manchester United and it is simply astonishing.

The transfer fee itself is sufficient to break the world transfer record set by Gareth Bale’s move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid in 2013, with Pogba expected to leave Juventus for €116m.

If one takes into account Pogba’s wages as well as Mino Raiola’s extortionate agent fees across the five-year contract, jaws are bound to end up on the floor from shock.

With Pogba’s reported salary set an annual income of €13m, as well as Raiola’s cut of €23m, Manchester United will spend €269 million on the transfer over the course of Pogba’s initial contract with the club.

The move has been rapidly gathering pace over the last few days after what had been a glacial month in terms of transfer activity for the majority of July.

Mino Raiola told La Stampa that the move would be completed this week, and Pogba has been teasing Manchester United fans with his posts on Instagram.

Pogba is also the star of the new Adidas advert, in which he tells the world ‘don’t believe everything you read in the papers’ which sent United fans into a frenzy.

The Frenchman had a largely disappointment home Euro 2016 with his country but has excelled in Turin for Juventus over the course of the past two seasons and is sure to be welcomed with open arms by everyone at Manchester United.

The longest of transfer sagas has almost reached its conclusion.
