Manchester United have been hit with the news that Paul Pogba could require a late fitness test ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.
ESPN’s Rob Dawson has reported that the French midfielder took a knock in training on Friday, having to stop participation as a result.
Suggestions that Paul Pogba had to stop training today because of an injury. Will have a fitness test tomorrow to see if he can play vs Liverpool.

Losing Pogba for such an important match would be a big blow for Jose Mourinho. Although the £89m man has had his critics recently, Man United are a stronger team with him in it, and with the likes of Ander Herrera already expected to miss the match at Old Trafford, the home side’s midfield could be stretched with another absentee. Marouane Fellaini, though, is back in contention.
However, it should be noted at this time that Pogba has not been rule out of contention, and could yet still play as Man United look to stave off the challenge from Jurgen Klopp’s side and remain in second place in the league table.
Elsewhere, Anthony Martial is also expected to miss the match through injury, though is likely to return for the Champions League last 16 second leg against Sevilla in midweek, while Eric Bailly could come back into defence at the expense of Victor Lindelof.
