Watch: Paul Pogba Commits Needless Handball To Give Liverpool A Penalty


Manchester United v Liverpool was given its first major talking point near the half-hour mark, all thanks to Paul Pogba.

The home side had started the brighter of the two sides, and indeed Pogba could have put the home side in front after fifteen minutes but for a dragged shot, but turned into the villain of the piece just over ten minutes later.

Liverpool’s James Milner played a corner into the Man United box, and while the danger was reasonably minimal, Pogba still felt the need to take the ball off Dejan Lovren’s head with his hand, and Michael Oliver had no hesitation in pointing to the spot.


Milner himself took the penalty and made no mistake, driving the ball to David De Gea’s left to continue his 100% penalty streak for the season – six out of six.

Though he could yet turn it around, Pogba is being hammered for his first half performance – and not just for the handball either:
