After a rocky start to the transfer window with several targets slipping from the Reds’ grasp, Phillipe Coutinho’s recent remarks about his future should ease the concerns of supporters.
The Brazilian playmaker has been the subject of recent transfer speculation involving a potential big money move to French champions PSG and Catalan giants Barcelona but it appears the 24-year-old is happy at Liverpool.
As quoted by The Mirror:
“I am grateful for everything Liverpool has done for me. Am I happy there working under Klopp? It’s clear, he’s great.”
If Liverpool managed to retain Coutinho’s services, it would provide Jurgen Klopp with a huge boost going into his first full season at the club.
The diminutive Brazilian managed 12 goals and 7 assists last season, playing a big part in his German manager’s plans. He was part of the Brazil side that were recently knocked out of the Copa America after the group stage.
