This hasn’t been the best transfer deadline day for Manchester United fans…

After the news was confirmed on Monday afternoon that Pep Guardiola would be taking over at Manchester City next season, United supporters went into a rage online as the board at Old Trafford continue to back the drastically under-performing Louis van Gaal.
#mufc left behind again. Missed out on Guardiola twice. Ignored Mourinho twice. And overlooked Klopp when he was available. Cash over glory.

If things looked as if they couldn’t get any worse for United fans, they just did this afternoon as, according to reports in Spain, Guardiola has had his eye on one fan favourite at Old Trafford for some time and intends to make him his first signing at the Etihad.
Guardiola will succeed Pellegrini as manager next season and according to reports in Spain, he has planned on swooping for Utd star Herrera. — hotsports (@hotsportsng) February 1, 2016
Consistent rumours of late have suggested that Ander Herrera is unhappy with Van Gaal’s football at Manchester United and believes it is stifling his development.
According to The Star, a source close to Herrera has stated that the Spaniard is now questioning his position at the club and, that a transfer could appeal to the former Bilbao man.
“Ander is worried about his lack of progress at Manchester United under Louis van Gaal.
“He feels like he’s lost his identity as a player and doesn’t know what his role is anymore.
“His situation appears to be getting worse and he’s worried his career is going backwards, so there will have to be a chat with the manager.”
It’s very early days to treat this as anything other than speculation, however with the news of Guardiola’s move to City confirmed while United appear to be remaining limp in the winter window, United fans will surely be praying that something will soon give at Old Trafford.
