Paul Pogba Insists Manchester United Are Still Very Much In The Title Race

Just weeks ago, it would have been farcical to suggest Manchester United had even the slightest chance of topping the Premier League table come May 21st.

Now, however, after a brilliant run of form, in which Jose Mourinho’s side certainly looked like title contenders, they are scaring some of the early pace-setters. Be that as it may, they have surely left themselves too much to do.

Paul Pogba, crucial to United’s resurgence, insists the Reds are still in with a shout.

The Frenchman told the BBC’s Football Focus, as quoted by MEN.

“You have to believe, we are not far.

“I know Chelsea are at the top but this is the Premier League, you never know what is going to happen. You have to keep fighting and believing. Inside, I feel we can still win the league.”

The English giants host Liverpool on Sunday in what will likely be a season-defining clash for both sides. A win for Jurgen Klopp’s charges would send a serious message to the sides around them while three points for the home side would close the gap between the sides to just two points.

The world’s most expensive player continued.

“The team is getting better and better. We all know each other now so we feel much better than we did at the start of the season.”

His partnership with Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been key to the winning run with the latter scooping the December Player of the Month award for the division. If they can maintain the levels they’ve set, they should have too much for the visitors, currently struggling for form.
