In an interview with SFR Sport in France, Paul Pogba has spoken about his former transfer options and the reasons that he opted to return to Manchester United.

The Manchester United midfielder admitted that he could have ventured to either Real Madrid or Barcelona, as they were both interested in signing the player before Mourinho snapped him up:

“It is a big challenge. I could have gone to a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid, who were interested. But I decided to come back here because it was a feeling in my heart, a feeling inside me that pushed me to come here. I want to win with Manchester United. I have never won with Manchester United.

“I know that the last four or five years have been a bit difficult for the club. It was not the same like the last 10 years. I want Manchester United to become the great Manchester United again. That is my challenge here.

“The price I don’t think about myself anymore. I am here, I can to play football. Today I am not happy because of the fact that I am the most expensive player in the world, I have forgotten all about that. I don’t care.”

Surely, this speaks volumes of the type of person that Paul Pogba is. Previously, the France international stated that he has unfinished business at United and he aims to become a Manchester legend. Just yesterday United’s boss, Jose Mourinho, hinted that Pogba will one day become the Red Devil’s captain.

“I’ve worked with Paul, tactically and mentally.

“I did nothing special. It is part of him. His technical and psychological qualities are part of him.

“He has the charisma, the ambition, the mentality to become captain claimed to manager.”

The French international will be looking forward to today’s clash against Liverpool which is an extremely important game for both clubs. A goal and a good performance today against the Reds would definitely lay the foundations of that legendary status even more.
