Odds Suggest That Manchester United Winger Will Join Crystal Palace

Manchester United

Express have reported that BetStars odds suggest that Ashley Young will leave Manchester United for Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window.

The 31-year-old has been with United since 2011 but Jose Mourinho’s arrival has seemingly signalled the end of his time with the Red Devils, with Alan Pardew’s side his preferred destination.

Yannick Bolasie is set to leave the Eagles in a £30m move to join Everton, who are one of the Premier League’s new-found financial heavyweights after Farhad Moshiri’s takeover of the club earlier this year.

And his replacement appears to be the former Watford and Aston Villa man, who has been placed at the odds of 9/5 to join Palace.

Young was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson for £17m and although he has not been a regular in the first team for his entire stay and has fallen foul to criticism for his diving antics in the recent past, he has been a good servant to Manchester United.

However, with a new manager a new era always accompanies him, and unfortunately for the wide man he is one of those who is deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial dazzled last season, whilst Henrikh Mkhitaryan is more than capable of plying his trade on the right-side of midfield.

The Armenian’s arrival seemed to be an indicator for the end of several players careers with United, and now the exodus has already begun, with Donald Love and Paddy McNair joining Sunderland.

“The revolving door at Manchester United continues to spin and the market suggests Ashley Young could be the next player to head for the exit at Old Trafford,” said a BetStars spokesman.

“In the last 24 hours, Crystal Palace have emerged as the frontrunners to sign the winger at 9/5 and with Jose spoilt for choice in attacking positions, this is definitely a transfer to keep your eye on.”

Juan Mata is unlikely to join them, but Bastian Schweinsteiger and Adnan Januzaj are just two individuals set to follow Young to the exit door.
