Brazilian forward Neymar has responded to the Selecao’s World Cup quarter-final exit on Friday night.
The South American giants were sent packing by Belgium in Kazan in the last eight encounter, the 2-1 score condemning Tite’s side to an early exit from the competition.
Neymar, seen as Brazil’s mani hope but also a target of much criticism due to his diving and general histrionics, took to social media on Saturday to convey his reaction to Brazil’s elimination. In an emotional post, the Paris Saint-Germain forward described the defeat as the saddest moment of his career:

“I can say that it is the saddest moment of my career, the pain is very great because we knew we could get there, we knew we had the conditions to go further, to make history .. but it was not this time.
“Difficult to find the strength to want to play football again, but I’m sure God will give me enough strength to face anything, so I’ll never stop thanking God, even in defeat … because I know that your way is much better than mine.
“Very happy to be part of this team, I am proud of all, this interrupted our dream but it did not get out of our head or our hearts.”
Brazil’s conquerers Belgium will now face France next week for a place in the World Cup final – meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Brazil manager Tite will remain in his post despite the disappointing tournament performance.
