Ever since Jose Mourinho first appeared in the Premier League he’s not been one to shy away from confronting fellow managers.

The ex-Chelsea boss would pick fights on a weekly basis, with Arsene Wenger being a regular victim of his press conference antics.

And now, years after he called Wenger a “specialist in failure” among other remarks, Mourinho is seemingly gearing up to make Arsenal’s transfer window a living hell.

Having made no signings for his new club Manchester United as of yet, the Portuguese manager is apparently eyeing two Arsenal targets, and is willing to swoop in and hijack the deals.

Firstly, the Independent are reporting that long-term target Alvaro Morata is on Mourinho’s radar. The Spanish striker has played under Jose before, at Real Madrid, and Wenger’s rival is looking to use this to his advantage.

In convincing Morata to join United, Mourinho will have robbed Arsenal of another centre-forward target, a position they desperately need reinforcing in, especially given the mystery surrounding Jamie Vardy’s suspected transfer.

And to make matters worse, this isn’t the only player Mourinho is looking to nab from under Arsenal and Wenger’s nose.

Henrik Mkhitaryan has failed to negotiate a suitable contract with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, and the German club are now looking to cash in on the player with only a year left on his current deal.

They value him at £25m, but it isn’t the price tag which could scupper the deal from Arsenal’s perspective.

Since the north London club’s interest became apparent days ago, it is now clear that Mourinho is also looking at the player.

To further complicate things, Mkhitaryan is represented by the same agent employed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It is being widely suggested that if Ibrahimovic does end up moving to Manchester Mkhitaryan will follow suit.

Bad news for Arsenal fans then, as Jose Mourinho continues his ongoing feud with Wenger, this time in the transfer market rather than at press conferences.

It is yet to be seen if there is any truth behind these rumours, but if there is then there’s no doubt Mourinho and Manchester United will have the edge over Arsenal come the start of the season in August.
