As is common knowledge at this stage, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to join Manchester United in the near future, the Red Devils having agreed a fee for his services with the German outfit.
Manchester United were deficient in a plethora of departments last season, but creativity was certainly first among equals as the club earned themselves a reputation for putrid, negative football.
With an aged Wayne Rooney looking increasingly decrepit and widespread thinking that José Mourinho will move Juan Mata along as he did at Chelsea, the need for an offensive midfielder is obvious, and Mkhitaryan appears perfect for the role.

The Armenian international’s versatility has been well flagged as he can play anywhere across the pitch behind a lone striker and should he establish an effective relationship with the likes of Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford, Mourinho’s charges may pose a considerable threat to the best in Europe next season.
Words can, of course, only say so much and as the video below shows, Mkhitaryan promises to be a shrewd piece of business by the red half of Manchester.
This one additional stat is even more impressive.
