FC Midtjylland drawing Manchester United in the last 32 of the Europa League marks a significant point in the Superliga side’s short history.
This may be part of the reason why Midtjylland’s Twitter team reacted in the way they did today after hearing they’d be making the journey to Old Trafford.
From starting out in the Danish second tier to going on the become champions of the Danish Superliga last season it has been a fairly swift journey for the Wolves.
In the summer of 2014 Matthew Benham, owner of Brentford, bought a stake in the club and is now implementing the same type of statistical analysis at the Danish club, which has so far worked wonders for the Bees.
While many a United fan will not have even heard the name of this team before, they will need to be aware of this young, but ambitious club when they play each other in February.
For now, however, the Danish club appear to just be letting the excitement of the draw take hold…
