Manchester United released their 21-man squad for their trip to Fenerbahce this morning with some notable absentees.
Among those not included was Memphis Depay, the young winger who’s never really settled in at Old Trafford, and many were quick to suggest that this could be the beginning of the end for the former PSV speedster at United.
Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News has an update on his absence and it doesn’t make for good reading if you’re a fan of the Dutchman.
“M.E.N. Sport understands the 22-year-old Dutchman has not distinguished himself in Jose Mourinho’s recent training sessions and some teammates were surprised he even came on as a substitute in the weekend draw against Burnley.”
With the transfer window just two short months away, it looks like Memphis could be one of the first casualties of the January period.
While any possible departure would surprise nobody, Depay has proven himself, on occasion, to be a supremely talented young player.
He was top scorer in the Eredivisie before he became United’s first signing of the summer window before last. Some great goals and outrageous skills have followed but for the most part, he’s been a massive disappointment.
His torrid performance against Burnley on Saturday may well prove to be one of his final games at the club.
Can we just sell Memphis already because maybe we could get 3 Freddo bars for him now instead of nothing

Memphis has been one of the biggest disappointments ever, it's time to either let him go out on loan or sell him
