James McClean’s West Bromwich Albion future has been cast into further doubt as he failed to show up at a pre-season training camp on Monday.
Darren Moore’s side have travelled to Scotland as they prepare for their return to the Championship – but the Ireland international was nowhere to be seen.

West Brom later confirmed that McClean was indeed absent without permission from the four-day exercise.
McClean, who was at the Carlisle Grounds on Sunday to witness Bray Wanderers’ victory over Sligo Rovers, is now set to be fined by the Baggies for his failure to present himself at the training camp.
The 29-year-old has been the subject of strong interest from fellow Championship new-boys Stoke City, but thus far the two clubs have failed to agree on a fee to bring the former Derry City winger to the Bet365 Stadium, with West Brom believed to be requesting £6m for his services.
How this latest occurrence will impact any potential deal remains to be seen, but McClean is the third player to go AWOl from a West Brom training camp after Craig Dawson and Ben Foster did similar several weeks ago. The latter has since completed a move to Watford.
