Current Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill could be set for a return to the Premier League after the 65-year-old was reportedly contacted regarding the vacant Stoke City job.
Martin O’Neill has reportedly agreed a new contract to remain with the Republic of Ireland for their Euro 2020 campaign. However, that deal has yet to be signed and now, a report from The Telegraph has claimed that the Irish boss could be set for a return to Premier League management having been contacted by Stoke City.
O’Neill has been sounded out by the Stoke hierarchy and is expected to hold talks over a potential return to the Premier League. – The Telegraph
Derby County boss Gary Rowett was reportedly Stoke’s first choice for the vacant managerial post. However, after the 43-year-old signed a new deal with his current club, the Potters have seemingly turned their attention to O’Neill.
