Martin O’Neill Answers Question About His Future After Denmark Defeat

It was a disappointing night for all concerned with Irish football on Tuesday as Denmark came to the Aviva Stadium and dominated the game, despite falling behind early on.

Five goals without reply meant that the Nordic nation enjoyed a 5-1 win, with Christian Eriksen the hero for the Danes.

After the game, Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill was asked about his future. With the Irish coming second in the group in qualifying, there is at least some momentum behind them as attention turns to a Euro 2020 campaign coming up.

Reported by independent.ie  the Derryman said he will have to consider his future on the sideline after the humbling defeat in Dublin.

O’Neill said:

“Do you know what, I’ll have to have a real think about it.

“The disappointment obviously is very, very strong tonight because we haven’t been able to do it, but I have to commend the players on getting this far.”

It was a disappointing night for Irish football, but there is no doubt that Ireland will be back.
