Mario Balotelli Hints That He Wants To Play Under Jurgen Klopp At Liverpool

Mario Balotelli, currently playing for AC Milan, has hinted that he may yet have a future at Anfield, following Brendan Rodger’s sacking at Liverpool.

The Italian striker failed to impress last season on Meresyside, scoring just once in 16 appearances for the club. But there have been signs that the 25 year-old may be recapturing his best form in Milan.

Perhaps Balotelli feels that he could not play his best football under Rodger’s regime, and dropped a big hint on Twitter that he may have a role to play at Liverpool yet under Jurgen Klopp, should the German get the job.

Buying Balotelli for £16 million in 2014 was seen as a big risk for Liverpool, a gamble that has not yet paid off. The Kop faithful grew increasingly frustrated by his poor form, and apparent lack of effort.

His potential is unquestionable, yet has never fully delivered on a consistent basis. He showed that on his day, he is one of the very best strikers in world football by carrying Italy to the final of Euro 2012. The fact that he has played for Inter Milan, Manchester City, AC Milan, and Liverpool at the age of 25 shows how little patience managers have with the erratic striker. Balotelli’s loan deal at AC Milan lasts until the end of the season. It remains to be seen if the new Liverpool manager will decide to keep him, and if he has the ability to get the best out of the Italian.
