Manchester United v Zorya Luhansk: Confirmed Lineup, Eric Bailly Starts

Manchester United are in Europa League action against Zorya Luhansk on Thursday evening.

In a group that has turned out to be far more awkward than José Mourinho would have liked, qualification for the knockout stage is still not assured, but a point against their Ukranian opponents will see them through nonetheless.

For tonight’s game, goalkeeper Sergio Romero is given the nod to start ahead of David De Gea in one of a number of changes from last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Everton.

Ashley Young also comes in to start ahead of Antonio Valencia, Daley Blind comes in for Matteo Darmian – but the big news is that Eric Bailly starts for the first time since coming off injured against Chelsea in October.

The Ivorian has made tremendous progress on his recovery and now starts well ahead of schedule, having been an unused substitute at Goodison Park.

Phil Jones moves to the bench, with Marcos Rojo the only surviving defender from Sunday.

Juan Mata is reinstated int the starting eleven ahead of Michael Carrick, with Paul Pogba moving deeper into midfield, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan continues his run of starts in the Man United first team on the wing.

Captain Wayne Rooney, meanwhile, comes in for Anthony Martial.
