After completing all the requisite incoming business and overseeing a brilliant start to the season, Jose Mourinho has turned attentions to streamlining United’s sizeable squad.
The cull of United’s fringe players goes on as it’s confirmed that James Wilson is once again going to be sent on loan. Derby County have reached an agreement with the Old Trafford club to secure his services.

“The 20-year-old, who has scored four goals in 20 first-team appearances for the Reds, will join Nigel Pearson’s squad as the Rams look to secure promotion from the Championship this campaign.
Derby manager Pearson lauded the youngster’s talents on the club’s website.
“I hope that this loan deal will prove to be mutually beneficial for all parties and I would like to place on record our thanks to Manchester United for allowing James to join us. He is an energetic player who will add to our existing attacking options.”
Wilson made his breakthrough in United’s final home game of the 2013/14 season, scoring twice in a 2-1 win over Hull. Louis van Gaal initially appeared to be a fan of the Englishman and rewarded the forward with a start against rivals Liverpool. Last season, the player’s relationship with the boss soured and he was loaned to Brighton. A successful stint there saw him bag five goals in 28 games.
He is the most recent in a long line of talented young players that the Special One has jettisoned in his short time at the club. The fans’ fears concerning the Portuguese coach’s worrying history regarding youngsters were well-founded.
