Juventus are a shadow of the side who reached the Champions League final last May, with Carlos Tevez, Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo all leaving the club. However, they remain on course to go one further this year, but need to bolster their squad if they are to overcome Bayern Munich in the last 16.
Today there are reports that the Old Lady have approached Manchester United concerning the signing of Ander Herrera. The Spanish midfielder has impressed at Old Trafford, and at the age of 26, he is believed to have a big future ahead of him with the club.
Juventus are looking to bid £25 million for Herrera’s services, and this would undoubtedly be an attractive offer from a United perspective.
However, the Red Devils will test the resolve of the Italian giants, and according to The Telegraph, they have set an asking price of £40 million.
Entering January, it was anticipated that United would be looking to buy rather than sell, and they are yet to make a move for a striker to solve their goal crisis, although Louis Van Gaal has recalled James Wilson from his loan spell at Brighton.
Nonetheless, the sale of Herrera remains a possibility if Juve were to stump up the cash required.
