Manchester United Players Call On Jose Mourinho To Drop Zlatan Ibrahimovic [Report]

Manchester United v Manchester City - EFL Cup Fourth Round

Manchester United have struggled under Jose Mourinho so far this season.

The need for a complete overhaul of Manchester United’s squad has become clear and obvious to many observers in recent weeks.

Players such as Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind have all struggled during the early months of the season, and it is little wonder why United have been linked with moves for a number of defenders in recent weeks.

However it’s not only in defence where United have struggled this season. Despite enjoying a positive start to his Old Trafford career, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has gone off the boil in recent weeks, failing to score in his last five Premier League games.

As a result, according to the Daily Mail, a number of United players believe Wayne Rooney should be reinstated as the club’s leading number nine.

Although Rooney has missed the last two games with injury, so far this season Mourinho has deployed the England Captain in an attacking midfield role.

However as United currently lack potency in attack, Mourinho may have to re-evaluate how he uses Rooney in the coming weeks.
