Manchester United Plan To Hijack Tottenham’s Deal For Eridivisie Top Scorer [Report]

Reports in the Netherlands suggest that Manchester United are attempting to hijack Spurs’ deal with AZ Alkmaar starlet Vincent Janssen.

The twenty-one year old forward has been linked with a £10 million move to White Hart Lane as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his attacking options.

But according to Dutch website Voetball PrimeurJosé Mourinho is keen to sign the Dutchman.

Janssen had a fantastic first season with AZ after moving from First Division side Almere City, bagging 31 goals in 49 appearances. He looks like a great buy for Spurs who relied too often on the goal-scoring prowess of Harry Kane over the last two seasons.

United on the other hand don’t look in such desperate need for more goals after the emergence of their own young star, Marcus Rashford and the imminent arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Anthony Martial is also no slouch in the goals department.

Whoever signs Janssen will be doing great business considering Memphis Depay, with an almost identical background, cost the Manchester club upwards of £25 million.

However it doesn’t look like the Red Devils will be signing their second young Dutchman in as many years, they simply don’t need him, but, that being said, you never know.
